What would Jane have said about Albert Street in Waterloo?
What can we learn from a little urban encyclopaedia like this?
Robert Shipley is supposed to be a teacher in the School of Planning at the University of Waterloo but he learns more than he teaches and much of that learning comes from walking the streets of cities.
Robert is inviting a small group of interested people to wander around one of Waterloo's most interesting neighbourhoods and reflect on the thoughts of Jane Jacobs and on your own observations.

These walks will showcase the city's core along the UpTown LOOP.
Tracy and Karen will engage participants in discussion about why Waterloo looks and feels the way it does today, how the city evolved, and what it can and will be in the future. "Our city is rich with special places and spaces. It's important for us to walk and talk about our community," Karen said. "We can learn from each other! Join us to walk the UpTown LOOP to experience our urban outdoor spaces, public art, views, vistas and our built form."
