Announcing new Event Manager & Chair at Jane’s Walk

Jane’s Walk is very pleased to introduce a newcomer and a new role at our organization.

Fanny Martin joins us as Event Manager and will lead the planning and delivery of the 2012 Toronto Jane's Walk and support Jane’s Walks in cities around the world.

Fanny brings with her a uniquely diverse background in business and event management, as well as a master’s degree studying public space and public art. Before choosing Toronto as her home, Fanny was an organizer for the Manchester Jazz Festival in the North West of England as well as for many other community events. She is multi-lingual, multi-talented, and super-motivated. We look forward to working with Fanny to make Jane’s Walk flourish and thrive in the coming years.

Jane’s Walk is also excited to announce Ann Peters as the new Chair of the Advisory Committee. Ann takes over the responsibilities of Linda Weichel, who has steered Jane’s Walk through an incredible period of growth and led the team that selected Peter Foley as new Director in her two years as Chair.

Ann recently retired from her position as Senior Manager, Leadership at Maytree, a Toronto-based charitable foundation committed to building strong civic communities in Canada. In addition, Ann has also worked in urban planning, non-profit housing, education, and for Ideas That Matter which sponsors the annual Jane Jacobs prize. The Jane’s Walk team is thrilled she will be bringing her expertise, knowledge and passion to chairing the Advisory Committee.
